Suffering, or pain, is an individual's basic affective experience of unpleasantness and aversion associated with harm or threat of harm. Suffering may be qualified as physical, or mental. It may come in all degrees of intensity, from mild to intolerable. Factors of duration and frequency of occurrence usually compound that of intensity. In addition to such factors, people's attitudes toward suffering may take into account how much it is, in their opinion, avoidable or unavoidable, useful or useless, deserved or undeserved.

Suffering occurs commonly in the lives of sentient beings, in diverse manners, and often dramatically. As a result, many fields of human activity are concerned, from their own points of view, with some aspects of suffering. These aspects may include the nature of suffering, its processes, its origin and causes, its meaning and significance, its related personal, social, and cultural behaviors, its remedies, management, and uses.

What is the bibles explanation for suffering in the World?
Q. The prophets say : suffering is a punishment for sin The book of Job, which offers two different answers: suffering is a test, and you will be rewarded later for passing it; and suffering is beyond comprehension, since we are just human beings and God, after all, is God Ecclesiastes: suffering is the nature of things, so just accept it. So which is it? because these contradict each other.

A. And who is sinless? Job? I think not. Job tried his best, but we do not know the heart of Job. God did and allowed satan to have his way with Job. Such is the way with us. We live in satan's realm (earth) where he was cast. All we can do is our best. Know that we do not "wrestle with flesh and blood, but against the darkness, the rulers of this age, against spiritual forces of wickedness" in which we can only find strength through the intercessing power of Christ upon and within us. Know that you will suffer in this world, but your suffering is not by God and in your suffering you can find peace, hope, joy and love in the face of that suffering. Such is the Grace that allows us to bear up and continue on. "I can do all, through Christ… [cont.]

A. I have tried many many things and found that I have to just use head and shoulders all the time. Its not very glamorous, I would rather find a "cure", but this is the closest thing to a cure I have managed. I have had this same problem all my life. Best of luck to you!

What is the government doing for soldiers suffering from War tramma?
Q. I'm writing a research paper and I need help with finding out if the government is helping soldiers suffering from mental illness from Iraq war. I'm proving there is no real help from the government and that there should be requirements of weekly counseling and things like that. Just need more support on my theory. Thanks a bunch!

A. Any person diagnosed with combat-PTSD is given free life long treatment for the condition by the VA. In addition each one of these veterans will be evaluated to determine how badly the PTSD influences their life. The more severe the disability the more benefits and financial support are provided. There is no requirement for weekly counselings. The frequency and type of treatment are decided on a case-by-case basis by the medical professionals providing the treatment. The biggest barrier to getting help for these veterans is the veterans themselves. Many of them refuse to admit that there is a problem and try to control it using pure self-discipline.
