Animals are a major group of mostly multicellular, eukaryotic organisms of the kingdom Animalia or Metazoa. Their body plan eventually becomes fixed as they develop, although some undergo a process of metamorphosis later on in their life. Most animals are motile, meaning they can move spontaneously and independently. All animals are also heterotrophs, meaning they must ingest other organisms for sustenance. Most known animal phyla appeared in the fossil record as marine species during the Cambrian explosion, about 542 million years ago. From Wikipedia under the

From Google News Search: "Animals" How many animals did Noah bring with him on the ark? Q. Is it correct that he brought 7 pairs of clean animals and 1 pair of unclean animals? If not, how many of each animal did he bring aboard? What is the difference between a clean animal and an unclean animal? Asked by Chill - Wed Dec 30 19:52:00 2009 - - 16 Answers - 1 Comments A. Not seven pair, but seven of the clean ones, and two of the unclean ones. Gen 7:2 Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female. I don't know where these folks are coming up with two "pair" and seven "pair" at. Clean animals were those that God said were good to eat. Unclean were those that they were not to eat. I might also add, there were not that many animals on the ark. Keeping in mind that most of the larger animals were "unclean", there would have only been two of them. Also, there were not two of every different "breeds" of animals, only different "species". This means that there were only two horses, not two of every type… [cont.] Answered by Evangelist Paul - Wed Dec 30 19:58:16 2009 How do animals in the deep ocean find their way around? Q. I've noticed that alot of the species down there in the blackness (mostly predatory animals) have eyes. I was wondering: why would they all have these massive eyes if no light gets down there? What other senses do animals down there use to find prey? Asked by Black Wolf - Thu Aug 27 00:35:22 2009 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments A. Yes you're right: most animals in the deep ocean have eyes. Although there is not natural light, many species of fish and marine invertebrates can produce light in their bodies. I saw it in a lot of documentaries. Take in mind that many animals are in the deep ocean only for a short time. So they need eyes for see in the surface. Some species like the sperm whale use their sonar for locating food.
